The Bridge City Bicycle Co-op is pleased to present Saskatoon’s first-ever Bike Week from August 13 – 19, 2016.

Bike Week Saskatoon is a weeklong celebration of cycling in all forms, for people of all ages. From August 13 –19, Bike Week Saskatoon will feature group rides, workshops, and other bike-related community events.

What to Expect

Bike Week Saskatoon events will be hosted by various groups throughout the week and across the city. Individuals, organizations, and local businesses are invited to participate in Bike Week by hosting an event that encourages people in Saskatoon to ride their bikes, and attending those hosted by others. Event possibilities are diverse and include group rides, bike parades, races, discounts for cyclists, bike maintenance classes, and more.

Some of the events that have already been pitched include a slow roll, an outdoor bike movie night, a “Get Ready to Bike to Work” workshop, a bike-themed literature reading, and a fashion show on bikes. Check back to our website for an updated event schedule as we add to the Bike Week line up, and plan to attend one or more events during Bike Week Saskatoon!

Alongside a number of bike-related events throughout the city, Bike Week Saskatoon’s main feature will be the fourth annual Bike to Work Day, taking place on August 17 at Commuter Stations across the city from 7 – 9AM. Why Bike?

Cycling is a popular recreational activity as well as a healthy, convenient, low-cost and socially responsible form of everyday transportation. We hope Bike Week inspires more people to ride their bikes, and experience the fun and freedom of two wheels!
